GUIDO ALBI MARINI
Born in Naples, Italy, Guido Albi Marini studied photography under Giovanni Thermes, and was encouraged to begin exhibiting his work by Domitilla Sartorio, head of the Benetton Art Academy. His photographs have been shown in Miami, New York, Santiago del Chile, and at ARCO in Madrid. They are also included in numerous collections, among them, the Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation, Miami, the Fondazione Annali dell’Architettura, Naples, Italy, and DC Corretora, Rio de Janeiro.

Albi Marini is known for his life-size color photographs of female store mannequins, dramatically illuminated and in sharp focus. Shown at close range and from intimate angles, the heads of these body-doubles seem psychologically inhabited, yet do not return the viewer’s gaze. Albi Marini gives each of these "portraits" a name, adding to the unsettling sense that they are somehow alive. Claudette 01, Claudette 02 and Claudette 03 are part of Albi Marini’s series entitled Body Doubles, which was exhibited in New York and Miami in 2003.
